Welcome to the website of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in India. Your attention and support to Sino-India economic and trade cooperation is highly appreciated.
Both China and India are featured with large population and vast land. Two great civilizations reflected and shined mutually within thousands of years, which jointly composed the brilliant chapter of world history of civilization. Since 21st century, the two countries have collectively entered into the fast track of economic and social development. As two largest developing countries in the world, China and India owns significant potentials and brilliant prospects on developing bilateral economic and trade relations. In recent years, by strengthening bilateral friendly cooperation relationship, the two nations’ economic and trade cooperation has been enhanced dramatically, featured with fast-increased trade volume from $3.6 billion in 2001 to $51.8 billion in 2008. India became the tenth largest trade partner of China, and for the first time, China exceeded United States to be the largest trade partner of India. Meanwhile, enterprises from both countries have made significant improvement on cooperation in the fields of infrastructure construction and mutual investment.
Since 2009, in the backdrop of global financial crisis, the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation has encountered with unprecedented pressures and difficulties. To cope with the challenges, my colleagues and I will work doubly hard and strive for the establishment of a harmonious and win-win bilateral economic and trade cooperation relationship.
As standing at the front point of the bilateral economic and trade cooperation, we feel great honored to provide effective support, assistance and services to business communities of our two countries.
